The owner of this beautiful Alpine White M6 noticed the transmission slipping when changing gear.  After a thorough visual inspection and test drive we determined it was time for a new clutch.

With the entire SMG out, we can prepare to replace the clutch. This is also the time to inspect the flywheel, shifter and rear main seal. Those three parts can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.

The flywheel on the right has damage in the form of heat spots. So, we will have to replace this unit with the flywheel on the left.

The used clutch (bottom) has been completely disassembled for further inspection. The shiny new clutch is on top.

The fork lever, rear main seal, upgraded pivot pin, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, clutch, flywheel and fluids are all O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacturer). These parts meet or exceed the performance of the stock parts and were manufactured for B.M.W. at the time of this M6’s production.

With the clutched replaced we can take it for a test drive and prepare it for pick-up. If you notice your transmission acting up give us a call for an appointment to diagnose your problem. Remember, it’s always important to replace the clutch as soon as it’s been identified as the issue. Excess heat from clutch slippage can damage other parts of the gear box and require replacement of the entire transmission.
