The E46 and E36 3 Series are known for amazing handling and impressive power. Unfortunately, they are also known for a common issue with the rear subframe.

The rear subframe mounts the differential to the chassis. Over time, stress cracks can form around each mounting point of the subframe which leads to the subframe literally ripping from the chassis. Our experienced techs can spot a damaged rear end and other common BMW issues with a thorough visual inspection.

If repairs are necessary we remove the entire subframe and further inspect the condition of each mounting point as well as the condition of the differential. If the subframe or differential bushings are worn now is the ideal time to have them replaced. In the case of this M3, we are using stiffer polyurethane bushings suited for the racetrack.
