With more and more electric vehicles on the road there will eventually be more strain on the grid. BMW and Pacific Gas & Electric Company are looking to reduce this strain by giving 100 Californian i3 Drivers $1,000 to NOT charge their cars at peak hours. Much like the campaigns to reduce washing machine use at peak hours, this BMW initiative will increase efficiency on a state wide scale and help electric vehicles have a smaller footprint on the environment.
