Windshield mouldings are rubber seals that sit between the glass and car body. These seals are instrumental in reducing wind noise and preventing water leaks.

It is common for these to go bad and you can often tell by a visual inspection. A bad seal will crumble to small pieces and leave gaps between the glass and body.
